To know where a listing really sits for a shopper in Houston looking for a ceramic mug, you need to search as that shopper: logged out, on a phone, from a Houston carrier connection. The same applies to watching competitors, checking whether an Etsy Ads placement is live, and confirming that a price or a shipping profile change has taken effect. Search as the shopper, not the seller
The bulk of Etsy's buying happens in the app on phones, and its search, ads and recommendation systems are shaped by that traffic. A carrier IP behind carrier-grade NAT is shared with many real handsets in the metro, so Etsy treats it as another shopper and serves the ordinary result page: the organic order, the sponsored slots and the shipping badges a buyer there would see. From a cloud address you may get a challenge or a degraded page and learn nothing. A logged-out search from one of our lines in the shopper's metro is the closest thing to standing behind a customer while they browse.
A monitoring routine that does not get noticed
Pick your ten or twenty most important search terms and check them from the target metro once or twice a day, spacing the checks unevenly. Record your position, the shops above you, their prices and whether they hold a sponsored slot. Watch competitor shop pages for new listings and price changes a few times a week rather than every hour; Etsy prices do not move like sneaker resale. Rotate between batches so one address is not fetching your whole list in a row. Keep any tool you use to a person's pace, honour robots directives, and remember that Etsy's terms restrict automated access, so a polite manual-speed check is the safe end of the spectrum.
Sticky for the shop, rotating for the searches
Your own Shop Manager session should live on a sticky IP from login to logout. Etsy watches for sign-ins that move location and will ask you to verify, or on a new shop, hold payouts for review, so give it one consistent address. Logged-out search checks are the place for rotation, sampling more than one address in the metro's pool. More than one shop, where Etsy permits it
Etsy's policies set the conditions under which one person may run more than one shop, including how the shops must be disclosed to each other and to buyers. Where you meet those conditions, give each shop its own line in its own browser profile so each has a stable, believable network story and a problem with one does not touch the other through a shared address. That is risk management, not concealment; Etsy connects shops through payment accounts, tax details and addresses regardless of IP, and a proxy changes only the network path. If a shop has been suspended, a new line will not bring it back and we will not help with that.
Match each shop's line to the metro on its public shop location. A shop that says it is in Phoenix should log in from Phoenix, in Mountain time, during the day. For monitoring, use the metro where most of your buyers are; carrier geolocation is approximate, at metro or state level, so a nearby city is fine when we do not have your exact town. Set the browser profile's time zone to match the line as well.
Troubleshooting Etsy checks
If rankings look different from what a buyer reports, confirm you are logged out and that the browser has no Etsy cookies; personalisation is the usual cause. If Etsy asks you to verify after moving a shop to a line, do it once and stay sticky. A challenge page on search means you are checking too quickly. A repeated exit IP after rotation is the carrier's finite regional pool at work and does not affect a check. Slow page loads usually mean the profile is not using the line; verify the exit IP before you look anywhere else.

Setting up a Etsy proxy on TigerProxies

Is using a proxy allowed on Etsy?
Etsy's terms decide what you may do: how many shops you may run, how they must be disclosed, and whether automated access is permitted. Connecting through a proxy is not itself prohibited, but it grants no permission. A proxy changes the network path only, so a shop you are not allowed to run stays disallowed.
Rotating or sticky for Etsy?
Sticky for Shop Manager and anything signed in, from login to logout. Rotating for logged-out search and competitor checks, so you sample more than one address. Our lines hold the IP until you call the rotation link, so a shop session never changes address unless you ask.
How many Etsy shops per line?
One shop per line, in its own browser profile, and only as many shops as Etsy's policies allow you with the required disclosure. Put monitoring on a separate line. This is housekeeping and risk management rather than a limit set by proxy capacity, since each line is one SIM in one device that only you use.
Can I use it on my phone with the Etsy app?
Yes. Enter the host, port, username and password in the phone's Wi-Fi proxy settings and the Etsy app will route through the line, giving you the shopper view most buyers have. Turn off the app's location permission while checking so results follow the IP. Verify the exit IP in the browser first.
Do you have US IPs in my shop's city?

Will the proxy slow down my Etsy work?
