Depop Mobile Proxies for Shops and Trend Research

Depop was built as a phone app and it still behaves like one. Listings are shot on a phone, the feed is personalized by what you like and follow, and most buyers scroll it on a carrier connection between classes or shifts. For a vintage shop, a small streetwear label or a sourcing business, that means the version of Depop worth studying is the mobile one. TigerProxies gives you a dedicated US carrier line, one SIM for one customer, so your shop and your research both run on the kind of network Depop sees from its own buyers every day.

An app with a website attached

Depop's website works, but the product decisions are made for the app: the explore feed, saved searches, bundles and offers all feel native on a phone and slightly bolted on elsewhere. When you study the market, study it where buyers are. Put a line's credentials into a spare phone's Wi-Fi proxy settings, install the app, and browse your category the way a US shopper would. You will see which listing photos lead the feed, how sellers title the same item, and what ships fast. A data-center address on a desktop browser tends to see a thinner, more suspicious version of the same site, which is useless for pricing.

Because a carrier IP is shared by many real phones through carrier-grade NAT, Depop treats it as ordinary traffic and judges you on behavior. That is the fair deal: act like a shop owner and the connection never becomes the story.

Refreshing listings without acting like a script

Depop sellers learn early that recently edited listings get a second look, and plenty of shops refresh their inventory on a routine. Doing a handful by hand each morning is normal seller behavior. Hammering hundreds of edits a minute through a script is the sort of pattern that gets a shop limited, and a mobile IP does nothing to hide it, because the account is doing the talking. Keep refreshes spread across the day, keep them on the shop's own sticky line, and let paid boosting be a budget decision rather than a workaround.

Which Depop job gets which setup

Most Depop operators end up with two kinds of work on two kinds of line. The shop itself lives on a sticky line that never rotates while signed in. Research, such as scanning sold items, saved searches across sizes or competitor shops, runs signed out on a second line that rotates between batches. Keeping them apart means a research rotation can never knock the shop out of its session.

Trend research from the US feed

The reason brands and sourcers watch Depop is speed: a silhouette or a vintage label can move from nobody to sold-out in a fortnight. Track a short list of search terms across our metros, noting price bands, how many active listings appear and how quickly sold markers accumulate. Los Angeles and New York often show a different mix of what is listed than Houston or Chicago, which is useful when deciding where to source. Record the metro and date with every observation, and rotate the research line between cities from the dashboard; location moves are free and self-service.

Keeping the shop's story straight

One shop, one line, one device or browser profile, in the metro where the shop actually ships from. Depop lets you run your own shop; it does not let you open extra shops to push the same stock twice or to leave feedback for yourself, and a proxy changes nothing about those rules. If you manage a shop for a client, get their permission, label the line with their name and keep it off your own shop's device. A suspended shop is not something we can or will help reopen.

Fixing common snags

If the app refuses to load on a phone, check the Wi-Fi proxy settings were saved with the right port and that authentication is entered. If you see a login code after moving the shop to a line, enter it once and keep the line sticky afterwards. If saved searches suddenly return very little, you are refreshing too quickly on the research line, so widen the gaps. Plans start at $4 a day for 4G and $5 for 5G, every one with unlimited data, and support is on Telegram and email at any hour.

Setting up a Depop proxy on TigerProxies

  1. Choose a line in the metro your Depop shop ships from, plus a second line for research if you need it.
  2. Copy the host, port, username and password from the dashboard.
  3. On a spare phone, add them under Wi-Fi proxy settings, or set them in a browser profile for desktop work.
  4. Check the exit IP and city in the phone's browser before opening Depop.
  5. Sign in to the shop on the sticky line and leave it unrotated.
  6. Point research browsing at the second line and rotate it only between search batches.

Depop proxy questions

Does Depop allow proxies?

Depop's rules cover what accounts do, not how they connect. Running your own shop, or a client's shop with permission, through a dedicated line is fine. Using any connection to run duplicate shops or fake feedback is not.

Can I run the Depop app through the line?

Yes. Enter the credentials in the phone's Wi-Fi proxy settings and the app routes through the line. For SOCKS5-only apps or full-device routing, a proxy client app on the phone does the same job.

Will rotating the IP help my listings rank?

No. Feed placement follows the listing, the shop and buyer interest. Rotating a signed-in shop only creates login prompts. Keep the shop sticky.

Which metro should a Depop shop use?

The city the shop ships from, or the nearest of our eight metros. For research you can move a line between cities for free to compare local listing mixes.
