OfferUp Mobile Proxies for Local Sellers

OfferUp is a marketplace where distance is part of the price. Buyers see items near them first, meet up in person or pay for shipping, and judge a listing against whatever else is within a short drive. For a furniture shop, a used appliance dealer or a store clearing returns, that makes OfferUp local retail with a phone for a storefront. A TigerProxies line is a real US carrier SIM in a device we run in a specific metro, dedicated to one customer, which is exactly the kind of connection OfferUp's buyers have.

The metro is the market

On most marketplaces, location is a detail. On OfferUp it decides what a buyer sees. The feed and search results favor nearby listings, so a sofa priced for Houston may look expensive in Phoenix or cheap in Los Angeles. Before you set prices, look at your category from the metro you sell into, signed out, the way a local buyer would. Our lines sit in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Houston, Phoenix, Miami, North Carolina and Boston, and moving a line between them is free from the dashboard. Carrier geolocation resolves to a metro or state rather than a street, so treat it as a city-level view and set the search radius accordingly in the app.

For a business that sells in more than one metro, this is the most useful thing a line does: it shows each local market as it really looks, instead of guessing from your own neighborhood.

A local price check routine

Choose your ten most common item types. Once a week, from the metro you sell in, search each one, note the lowest credible listing, the typical asking price and how many similar items are live. Credible matters: ignore obvious placeholder prices and listings with no photos. Then compare with what your own items actually sold for. Over a month, you will know which categories you can hold firm on and which need to be priced to move before they eat floor space.

If you sell in two metros, run the routine separately for each. A dresser that clears in a weekend in Chicago may sit for a month in Miami, and the difference is worth knowing before you ship stock between locations.

Business accounts and trust

OfferUp encourages sellers to verify their identity and has options for businesses, and buyers lean heavily on ratings and verification badges when deciding whom to meet. None of that has anything to do with your IP, and no proxy can add a badge you have not earned. What a steady line does is keep your business account's sign-ins consistent: one sticky line in the metro where the business actually sells, one phone or browser profile, staff routed through the same line. Opening extra accounts to repost the same items or to escape a ban is against OfferUp's rules, and we will not help with it.

Messages, meetups and safety

Local selling means real people arriving at real places. Keep messaging inside the app, meet at public spots or the store, and do not let anyone move a conversation to a payment method you do not use. A line changes none of this; it simply keeps the business's app sessions on one reliable connection. Staff answering messages from the shop floor should use the same line so the account does not appear to jump between neighborhoods all day.

Troubleshooting

If the feed shows items far from the metro you expected, check the app's location setting, which can override what the network suggests. If a verification appears after you move the account to a line, complete it once and keep the line sticky. Photo uploads are comfortable on 4G, typically 20-45 Mbps. Lines are $4 a day, $25 a week or $60 a month for 4G, with unlimited data on every plan, and support is on Telegram and email at any hour.

Setting up a OfferUp proxy on TigerProxies

  1. Pick the metro your business sells into and order a line there.
  2. Copy the host, port, username and password from the dashboard.
  3. Enter them in the Wi-Fi proxy settings of the phone used for the business account.
  4. Confirm the exit IP and city, and set the app's own location to match.
  5. Sign in and keep the line sticky; route staff phones through the same line.
  6. Once a week, run your local price check from the same metro and log the results.

OfferUp proxy questions

Does the line change what OfferUp shows nearby?

It helps, since OfferUp considers where you appear to be, but the app's own location setting can override it. Set both to the same metro.

Can I list in several cities from one account?

List where you can actually meet buyers or ship from. Use research lines to study other metros, not to pose as a local seller where you are not.

Sticky or rotating for OfferUp?

Sticky for the business account. Rotation has no benefit for local selling.

Real US carrier IPs for OfferUp

Dedicated 4G and 5G lines in eight US metros. Sticky sessions, unlimited rotation, HTTP(S) and SOCKS5. From $4/day.
